Club Central’s new building on the corner of Cross Street and Crofts Avenue Hurstville is a striking addition to Hurstville’s commercial centre. The building makes a significant contribution to enhancing the quality of available commercial office space in the area. Designed to take advantage of a prominent corner site, the building has four basement levels of parking, three Club levels and four levels of commercial office space. Reflecting growing community concern over energy consumption, the application of ESD principles has meant that the building is the first commercial building in Hurstville designed to achieve a 4.5 star rating and as such will set a benchmark for commercial ‘A’ grade office in Hurstville.
The commercial office area is entered from Crofts Avenue via a lift lobby which is separate from the Club entry. No direct connection exists between the two areas, thereby retaining the independence and identity of each.
Part of the client’s brief was to ensure the building would attract best quality tenants by offering best quality space. This philosophy was used throughout the building and the three floors occupied by the Club, which is fitted out in a modern and sophisticated style. This style is aimed at attracting new members who will be just as comfortable entertaining their business colleagues as they will be enjoying the many recreational opportunities provided by the Club.
